Thayer's B&B is Sharon Gammell's home. Yes, she is the owner and yes, she lives here. Thayer's in NOT open to the public. If you want to see Sharon's home, you will need a minimum 48 hour advance appointment.
Sharon Gammell is an internationally known, gifted psychic and medium, she has two great Main Coon Cats, she is a talented chef and is also a minister in the Universal Life Church and a wedding officiate.
Thayer's two friendly Main Coon cats are Miss Sadie Cat and Tennessee. They are indoor kitties even though Tennessee might try to convince you otherwise. Please do not allow them to go outside.
We accept one night stays but, to really experience Thayer's, we recommend staying at least 2 nights.
Standard check in time is at 3:30 PM - the latest is 8:30 PM. Prior arrangements are necessary for a later arrival.
Departure time is at 11am the last day of your stay.
Thayer's accommodations include a full breakfast served in our dining room at individual tables.
All stays must be made in advance, on line, using our secure booking engine; we accept NO walk-ins.
Each guest room is perfect for one or two guests, is decorated with authentic period antiques, has a private bath, hair dryer and air conditioning.
We do not have cots, cribs, or roll-a ways and sleeping on the floor to add additional guests is not an option.
SMOKING is NOT allowed in-doors. Smoking is only allowed out-side in designated areas.
We are protected with smoke alarms & a sprinkler system.
EVERY GUEST ROOM is NON-SMOKING. You are welcome to smoke outside in designated areas.
No candles are allowed in our guest rooms.
Thayer's does not have a liquor license. You are welcome to bring in wine, for your personal use, to be enjoyed in your guest room.
Everything at Thayer's is pre-paid. Please double check everything you are ordering before making a reservation; once Thayer's accepts your request, your credit card is charged.
Holiday Stays: Standard rates apply to the day before a holiday & the holiday; sale rates, discounts and coupons do not apply to New Year's or Valentine's.
CANCELLATION POLICIES:
Regarding guest room cancellations: Thayer's understands that life changes; we will work with you as best we can. When you give us a minimum 72 hour advance notice of a standard rate reservation cancellation we will issue an in-house rain check, valid for 3 years, in the full amount paid.
Regarding all Private EVENTS, ACTIVITIES, Packages, Sales, DISCOUNTS or Special Pricing, Murder Mysteries and OTHER entertainment Events with or with-out guest rooms: You may sell your space and keep the money however, all monies paid Thayer's become the automatic cancellation fee.
REGARDING PSYCHIC READINGS: A minimum 24 hour advance notice is necessary to re-schedule a psychic reading appointment. You may re-schedule an appointment once. No refunds are given for cancelled or missed appointments.
Thayer's reserves the right to accept, reject and or cancel any reservation for any reason or circumstance at any time.
Should Thayer's cancel a reservation, Thayer's will return to the original purchaser the full amount actually paid to us. Thayer's will be held harmless for any additional costs, interest or inconvenience the cancellation may cause.
To tour Thayer's, aka Sharon's home, please make an appointment at least 48 hours in advance. Sunday afternoons work well for an appointment to see Thayer's.
Thayer's is not a restaurant and we are not "open to the public." All events, including dining, are by special arrangement.
Children 12 years of age and older are welcome to stay with us. Younger children may be able to stay mid-week, you will need to talk to Sharon first.
Children younger than 16 years of age MAY NOT attend our Murder Mystery Dinner events.
No videos of Murder Mystery Dinners, Dinner Shows, Paranormal Classes or Ghost Hunting Classes are allowed. Still photos are fine.
We love pets! We do our best to accommodate them. Most pets are allowed to stay; restrictions do apply, your pet must make a visit to see your Veterinarian no more than 3 days before arrival, all shots must be up-to-date and proof of this visit is required to reach us 24 hours before you arrive.
Thayer's has the privilege and honor to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places
Thayer's is a 3 story balloon framed building.
Thayer's was built in 1895 with funding from the Soo Line RR and luckily, we still have trains running close by.
Thayer's has no elevator.
All of our guest rooms are on the second and third floors.
Guestrooms do not have telephones or TV's; for guests that may suffer from TV withdrawal, we do have a TV, DVD and VCR in the living room that you are welcome to use.
Gift certificates purchased directly from Thayer's may be applied to all offers, B&B overnight stays, packages, Murder Mysteries, Dinner shows, weddings and events as well as taxes, gratuities, and any fees arising out of use of the certificate.
Donation Gift Certificates - Thayer's has received no payment for these. May only be applied to standard rates unless they state otherwise. They may not be applied to, or combined with another donation certificate, any sales, packages, reduced pricing, taxes or gratuities. The Donation Gift Certificate holder is responsible for all taxes, duties, fees and gratuities arising out of use of these Donation Certificates.
All gift certificates, purchased or donated, have no cash value and no refunds are given.
Discounts apply to standard rates and only the first night of a stay; only one discount offer may be used per visit unless the offer states otherwise.
All Specials, Discounts and Packages must be requested when placing reservations. Discounted prices are not automatic.
Service Gratuities are an automatic 20% of the TOTAL BILL before any sale pricing, coupons or discounts are applied.
Minnesota requires a 6.5% sales tax & automatically added.
A Dining room rental charge is added to private events held at Thayer's - many packages and events already have this cost figured into the price - Check your package for details.
Events require a $2,000 payment or payment in full which ever is less. Remaining balance due 30 days prior to event.
Travel agents, referral services or any other agents or services: Thayer's does NOT pay commissions.
Any and all offers, room rates, packages, specials, extras, discounts, policies and prices are subject to availability and may be discontinued or changed without advance notice.
Should you choose to disregard our policies, please understand that by doing so, you accept all consequences and all responsibility for damages.
